Video description: Jesus says that the world to come after His death, burial, and resurrection faced a barrage of false christs, false teachers, false messiahs, false prophets, interspersed with wars, rumors of wars, ethnic strife, and persecutions of God’s people. That is history from Christ’s perspective.
By the way, just what He said came true. The Temple was destroyed in AD 70 just as He said. History since AD 70 has been just what He said it would be. That is the introduction to Rev. 6-19. All the disasters mankind has ever faced roll on until the period when each type of disaster is magnified to the point everyone on earth feels the horror, not just a localized disaster as in the past.
History, as taught by Jesus, can be summarized as the period between His first and second coming will be nothing but relentless troubles, that will eventually reach the point of never before seen disasters globally. Plus a background of religious deception that will also get more and more powerful until all but the elect are deceived. Note that the theme is repeated four times: v. 4, 5, 11, 24.
Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries says that the generic famine, wars during 2000 years.
It’s absurd to say that Messiah was generically pointing to famines and wars during the next 2,000 years; as those things have happened throughout human history, and are not a sign of anything specific.
The truth is that those things took place in the first century, which served as a sign to Messiah’s audience, the disciples. It was a sign for the people in Judea to see, not us!
Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries says that Jesus was a pessimist when it comes to human history.
This is another absurd statement from a supposed scholar! In Matthew 23, Messiah foretold that judgment was coming on the Jewish leaders in that generation. Then He foretold the events that would take place before the second temple was destroyed.
That is not pessimism!!! That is Messiah giving His disciples the proper warning that they needed to escape the coming Jewish-Roman War of 66-70 AD.

Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries says that preterism, the problem is abomination of desolation in Matthew 24:15, which hasn’t happened.
This is an ignorant statement from a supposed scholar!
Matthew wrote to a Jewish audience who understood the reference in Daniel 8, to Grecian leader Antiochus Epiphanes surrounding Jerusalem with his army to take the temple captive. Luke wrote to a gentile audience who may not understand that reference, so he defined what the abomination of desolation is in Luke 21:20, “And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.”
This took place in November 66 AD, when Cestius and his army surrounded Jerusalem to take it captive. Then for no explained reason, they left, which gave the saints the opportunity to flee to the mountains for safety, before the Jewish-Roman War of 66-70 AD, during which 1.1 million Jews died in and around Jerusalem from famine, pestilence, infighting, suicide, evisceration, crucifixion and by the Roman sword.

Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries teaches a false, futuristic fulfillment of the 70th week of Daniel 9, the Olivet Discourse and the prophecies in Revelation.
The 70th week of Daniel 9 is about Messiah’s ministry and His blood sacrifice as the Spotless Lamb to atone for our sins. It has nothing to do with the antichrist or the end times.
The Olivet Discourse foretold the events that would lead to the desolation of Jerusalem, the second temple and the Jewish nation; as punishment for the Jewish leaders continuing in rebellion against the Heavenly Father and for delivering His Son up to be killed. It has nothing to do with the antichrist or the end times.
Most of the prophecies in Revelation have been fulfilled in exacting detail during the last 1,900 years. It describes the historical narrative of the Satan-empowered leaders of the Roman beast kingdom (pagan Emperors > antichrist beast Popes > false prophet Jesuit Superior Generals) fighting against Messiah and His saints.
The explanations of Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries serve to deflect blame away from the enemy in Rome, and to mislead the end-times saints so that they’re not prepared for how the end-times will play out, and don’t know the context of Messiah’s return.
